Oil Leak Detection in Heat Exchangers for Heating and Cooling Systems
.gif) Turner Designs Hydrocarbon Instruments introduces the new ‘C’ series of continuous on-line oil in water monitoring instruments. The TD-4100 C and the TD-4100 XDC can detect and measure oil, fuel, crude oils, and most heat transfer fluids in water from the low ppb to high ppm. The ‘C’ series is for cooling water, steam condensate, in power plants, drinking water, and other industrial applications. The TD-4100 XDC is for severe duty and hazardous area requirements.
With the lowest detection limits in the industry, the ‘C’ series can detect leaks before they become a problem. The ‘C’ series uses UV fluorescent technology that resists interferences from turbidity and suspended solids. No chemicals, pretreatment, mechanical manipulation or mixing of the sample is required. Specifically for high temperatures and pressures, the ‘C’ series water sample remains pressurized for easy return back onto the process. Straightforward operation with very little maintenance, the ‘C’ series senses when the instrument needs cleaning. An optional self cleaning system is available.

New Hand Held Oil in Water Meter for Produced Water and Crude Oil in Water
Turner Designs Hydrocarbon Instruments (USA) announces the next generation rugged and reliable oil field oil in water monitors for crude oil and produced water applications. The industry leader who brought you the TD-360 FastHEX and the TD-4100 XD continuous on-line oil in water monitors has just released the TD-500 TM hand held / bench top oil in water meter for crude oil. The new UV Fluorescence meter measures oil in Produced Water, Desalter Tail-Water, Crude Storage Tank Water, and in any application where crude oil may be in contact with water. It is viable for all crude oil and most gas production condensates.
It uses the same easy-to-use FastHEX procedure used on the famous TD-360 with the same high accuracy and repeatability but the new TD-500 meter is half the price of the nearest competition. The analysis method is compatible with all popular solvents including hexane, Vertrel, AK-225, Freon, xylene, and others.
The TD-500 is powered by 4 AAA batteries, weighs less than 1 pound and produces oil in water measurements in less than 4 minutes. It requires no special training and measurements correlate to EPA standard oil and grease laboratory methods. It is completely sealed meeting IP 67 Standard. It is water-proof, dust-proof and corrosion-proof and carries the CE mark.
